Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Viddycom Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), a company registered in the United Kingdom, handles your information when you use the Viddycom mobile application ("App") and the viddycom.com website. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

The short version: Your photos and videos stay on your device — we never upload them. Your voice is processed on your device first; when a command needs extra interpretation, only the text of that command (never an audio recording) is sent to Google's AI and turned into an action. We don't sell your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account information

You create an account with your email address and a password, or by using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. We receive your email address (or Apple's private relay address, if you choose to hide your email) and a unique account identifier. We never ask for your name. Passwords are handled securely by our authentication provider and are never stored in plain text. We use this information to create and secure your account.

1.2 Voice commands

Wake-word detection ("Show Time") and command recognition run on your device. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the natural-language interpretation of your commands also runs entirely on-device — nothing leaves your phone. On other supported iPhones, when a command needs more interpretation than the on-device model can provide, the text transcription of that command — never an audio recording — is sent to Google's Gemini service, which returns the action to perform. Audio recordings are never stored or transmitted.

1.3 Photos and videos

Media you capture is saved to your device's photo library. It is never uploaded to our servers and we cannot see it.

1.4 Subscription information

Purchases and renewals are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage and verify your subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment-card details.

1.5 Referrals

If you take part in the referral program, we store your referral code and the information needed to attribute and credit referrals.

1.6 Usage and diagnostics

We use Mixpanel for product analytics (how features are used), Firebase Crashlytics for crash diagnostics, and a Google advertising/conversion-measurement SDK to understand how our marketing performs. These services may collect device and usage identifiers.

1.7 Support and feedback

If you contact us or submit in-app feedback, we receive the information you send us.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, secure, and maintain the App and your account
  • Interpret and execute your voice commands
  • Manage subscriptions, free trials, and the founding-member price lock
  • Understand how the App is used and improve it (analytics)
  • Diagnose and fix crashes and bugs
  • Measure the performance of our advertising
  • Operate the referral program
  • Respond to your support requests
  • Comply with our legal obligations

Where UK/EU data protection law applies, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you (account and subscriptions), our legitimate interests (analytics, diagnostics, security, and advertising measurement), and your consent where required (for example, certain website analytics/advertising cookies — you can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner).

3. Your Voice and Media

Because this is the most common question: command recognition runs on-device first; only the text of a command is ever sent to the cloud, and only when on-device interpretation isn't enough; audio is never stored or sent; and your photos and videos never leave your device through Viddycom.

4. Services That Process Your Data

We use the following providers to operate the App. Each processes data only as needed to provide its service and under its own privacy terms:

  • Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store payments
  • Google — Google Sign-In, Gemini AI (interpreting command text), and advertising/conversion measurement
  • Supabase — account database, authentication, and storage that host our backend
  • RevenueCat — subscription management and verification
  • Mixpanel — product analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash diagnostics
  • Brevo — delivery of account and notification emails

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, or where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users. We do not share your data for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the conversion measurement described above.

6. International Transfers

Some of our providers are based outside the UK and EEA (for example, in the United States). Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent mechanism.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete Account). When you do, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. Photos and videos stored on your device remain yours to manage.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the UK and EEA have these rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR; residents of California have rights to know, delete, and correct their data and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To make a request, contact us using the details below — we may need to verify your identity first. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

9. Children

Viddycom has a 4+ age rating on the App Store and is available to a general audience, but it is intended for and marketed to adults and teenagers, not young children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use technical and organisational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices regularly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a revised "Last updated" date, and we may highlight material changes in the App. Your continued use of Viddycom after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact Us

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at hello@viddycom.com.
